You need to use a spectrum iwfi to determine channel utilization at various times of day, and then set yourself to 1, 6, or 11 if those are the channels used around you. The supported channel set in the 5 GHz band is limited. These adapter models include multiple hardware versions; some of those versions don't work in monitoring mode.
